Fly fishing and fly casting instruction for the Fresno and Central Valley of California

About

12 lb bonefish in Aitutaki (Cook Islands)

There are many facets to fly fishing but it is the art of casting that I enjoy the most. I am a Fly Fishers International (FFI) Certified Casting Instructor.  The International Federation of Fly Fishers (IFFF) recently changed their name to Fly Fishers International (FFI) but the testing and certification process remain the same.  For a quick Bio, I’m a retired Naval Aviator with a Masters degree in Aeronautics based out of Fresno, CA.

The ability to cast a fly rod is the single most important aspect of fly fishing. To be productive, one must first be able to accurately cast and present a fly. There is no "magic" fly that will catch fish if they can't see it. Using proper casting mechanics also requires less effort and is simply more efficient. This results in reduced fatigue and lessens the chance of injury over a long day on the water.

Those that display exceptional rod tip control and a smooth loading move make the difficult casts seem routine. That is the main reason why I developed this site. I want my clients to be able to cast a fly where he or she wants to at anytime, under any condition, effortlessly. Once one becomes proficient, casting a fly rod becomes relaxing and therapeutic.

Take care and thanks for visiting!
